  Wall Street Journal – 12 April 2010
Foldable Shipping Containers Try to Stack Up. Wall Street Journal journalist John J. Miller wrote an article about the gigantic wastage arising from continually moving empty containers by sea. Twenty per cent of the containers transported by sea are empty. Even more empty containers are shifted back and forth by road and rail. Miller quotes the English shipping analyst Neil Davidson, who estimates the cost of transporting empty containers at seven billion dollars a year – an enormous burden on a sector that lost 20 billion dollars last year. In the article he specifically mentions Cargoshell as a solution. He writes that the search for a reliable and robust collapsible container has been going on for years. The major container transporters are waiting on the sidelines, he writes. Market leaders like Maersk and Evergreen are prepared to invest in continued development if they see sufficient proof that such containers will work in practice.
